Mexico’s appeal of its lawsuit against the gun industry to be heard Monday, July 24, 9:30am ET in Boston

On Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit will hear oral arguments in Mexico’s appeal of its landmark lawsuit against the gun industry, Estados Unidos Mexicanos v. Smith & Wesson Brands Inc., et al., which was dismissed in September 2022 in Massachusetts U.S. District Court. GAGV founder and president Jonathan Lowy and Steve Shadowen of Shadowen, PLLC, serve as co-counsel for Mexico.

The hearing will take place at the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Way in Boston, Mass. The Court convenes at 9:30am ET, and Mexico’s appeal is the second case on the docket.

The hearing will also be streamed live (audio only) on the Court’s YouTube channel, and the recording will be archived on the Court’s website.
